A significant change impacting eviction filings in Sacramento County.

Sacramento County E-Filing Temporarily Unavailable

As of May 3rd, 2024, at 5 pm, the Sacramento County Court Unlawful Detainer (eviction) Unit’s e-filing program has been discontinued. As most of our clients know, Mehigan Law has been one of the few offices approved to utilize this service in recent years. We understand how valuable a tool it has been.

The change is due to the court migrating to a new file management system to create a more efficient and streamlined procedural experience.

What to Expect

  • Delays: Significant delays in eviction filings are expected during this transition.
  • New System Launch: The court is targeting June 17th, 2024, as the launch date for a new file management system and e-filing program. This date is dependent on smooth training and testing.

Long-Term Benefits

While there may be short-term challenges, the new systems are intended to improve the clerk’s office in the long run.
